Android TV / Google TV — full setup

This covers Sony, Philips, TCL and Xiaomi televisions with Google built in, plus the Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, and most Android boxes.

1. Install a player

Open the Google Play Store on the TV and install one of these:

• IPTV Smarters Pro — free, simplest, works with the Xtream login below. Start here.
• TiviMate IPTV Player — the nicest interface on a remote control, and the one most people end up using. The free version is enough; the paid one adds recording and multiple playlists.

2a. IPTV Smarters Pro

1. 1Open TiviMate → Add playlist → Xtream Codes.

5. 5Press Next, give the playlist a name, and let it download the channels.
6. 6When it asks about the TV guide, choose Use EPG from playlist provider — the guide is included, you do not need to add your TV guide link by hand.

3. Worth doing once

• TiviMate → Settings → Playlists → your playlist → Auto-update: turn it on, so new channels appear without you doing anything.
• Settings → Playback → Buffer size: raise it one step if your connection is uneven. Channels take a second longer to start and then stop stuttering.
• Group your channels: in TiviMate, open the channel list, press and hold a channel → Add to group. Ten channels you actually watch beat two thousand you scroll past.

It still does not work

• "Wrong username or password" — the details are case-sensitive and there is no space at the end. Use the copy button above instead of typing them. Full checklist

If none of that helps, run the troubleshooter in your account. It checks your actual subscription first, which is faster than describing the problem to us.
