Amazon Firestick / Fire TV — full setup

Ten minutes, once. Have your phone next to you — it is far easier to read the details from there than to squint at the TV.

1. Install the player

1. 1From the Fire TV home screen, press the magnifying glass (Search) at the top left.
2. 2Type IPTV Smarters Pro and open the result.
3. 3Press Get / Download. Wait for it to install, then press Open.

If the search finds nothing (Amazon removes and re-adds these apps regularly), install it manually instead:

1. 1Home screen → Settings (gear icon) → My Fire TV → Developer options.
2. 2Turn Apps from Unknown Sources on. (On newer sticks the option is called Install unknown apps; turn it on for *Downloader*.)
3. 3Go back to Search, install the free app called Downloader, and open it.
4. 4In Downloader's URL box, type iptvsmarters.com and press Go, then choose the Android / Fire TV download on that page.
5. 5When the download finishes, press Install, then Open.

2. Enter your subscription

1. 1Open IPTV Smarters Pro. Accept the terms.
2. 2Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
3. 3Fill the three boxes exactly:

• Any name — call it Canalus, it is only a label.
• Username — your username
• Password — your password
• Server URL — your server address

4. 4Press Add User.

The app loads your channels, films and series. The first load takes up to a minute — that is normal, it is downloading the full list once.

3. Make it comfortable to use

• Turn on the TV guide: Settings → EPG → refresh. Programme names appear next to each channel.
• Set your favourites: hold the OK button on a channel → Add to favourites. Your favourites list is what you will actually use every day.
• Fix the aspect ratio: while a channel is playing, press the menu (☰) button on the remote → Aspect ratio → *Fit to screen*.
• Stop the stick overheating: use the HDMI extender that came in the box — it moves the stick away from the back of the TV, which is the single most common cause of a Firestick that freezes after an hour.

4. A faster remote trick

Hold the Home button for three seconds to jump straight back into the app after a channel freezes, instead of restarting the whole stick.

It still does not work

• "Wrong username or password" — the details are case-sensitive and there is no space at the end. Use the copy button above instead of typing them. Full checklist
